Konnichiwa~
The city we are living in right now is celebrating their oomatsuri (large matsuri) and we went their to let our son experience what Japanese culture is. Along with my dad who came all the way from the Philippines to help up us look for our child while we go to work… (its a long story and i will be posting a separate blog for that )
Matsuri is like a festival where in they carry these huge looking carts with lanterns and “deity” looking figures above it. Inside it are the participants who will make the music for the other participants to dance on its tune and while they hoist/pull those huge carts (some matsuri use palanquin) all around the community. Each community have their own carts and when the carts from the other community meets they somewhat make a loud noise. Maybe to boast ?! Not sure though but you can see it from the video below.
Ive been living here for quite some time right now and witnessed their matsuri every single year. Still, It never fails to amuse me. Their culture is very beautiful actually every culture does… so take a glimpse of what their matsuri look like with this video. Enjoy~!
